Yes, it’s open every day from 9 am to 5 pm daily. We strongly suggest you book online as we only allow a limited number of people per day. 

We provide you with a lunch bag full of healthy multifeed nuts for our animals..

All people entering the Petting Zoo area are required to pay the entry fee of $20 per adult and $10 for children.

Child tickets are for ages 3 – 15.

Yes, but please respect the animals as they don’t like being pushed around or being picked up.

No, we limit the amount of food the animals eat to make sure they maintain a healthy diet

Our lambs get bottle fed at 9am, 1:15pm, and 5pm everyday during the Spring/Summer season.

Petting Zoo Tekapo asks you to consider the following statement: Tour participants must accept that we are unable to guarantee clear, sunny skies on all our tours. The animals at our farmyard will always be visible but they may not always feel sociable or want to be fed due to seasonal changes like weather conditions and availability of fresh grasses.

It is very important to arrive on time for check-in. If you do not check-in 5 mins before your tours scheduled departure time, you will be deemed a ‘no-show’ and you will not be eligible for a refund.

Late arrivals will not be catered for, and you will not be allowed to join a later departure. We then reserve the right to on-sell your ticket/s. If you are running late for any reason, then please contact us ASAP.

All tours are non-drinking and non-smoking. We reserve the right to refuse those who present intoxicated at the time of checking in. If you arrive intoxicated for check-in you will be turned away and will not be eligible for a refund.

We encourage you to dress to the conditions prior to checking in for your tour. We recommend that you wear sturdy enclosed warm footwear, a warm windproof jacket and highly advise in winter conditions to include warm hat and gloves. 

Failure to comply with the clothing recommendations may result in you being refused access to the tour and/or forfeiting the fares paid.

Mobility requirements must be advised at the time of booking. If you are getting into the petting zoo, you may have to enter paddock gates and farm animals may surround you for food and petting. It will be on visitor’s full responsibilities to take care of themselves. 

The Petting Zoo tours are not weather dependant and will run-in all-weather conditions unless it becomes unsafe to do so. In the event of adverse weather conditions (not limited to snow, ice, or extreme weather conditions) tours may be cancelled, for safety reasons. If this is the case, we will issue a full refund or accommodate you on another scheduled tour departure (dependant on availability).

Sometimes, tours may be subject to fast changing weather conditions, this could cause the tour to be cut short. Please understand that our tours are not subject to partial refunds or discounts for any reason, including the weather. 

Petting Zoo Tekapo reserves the right to cancel any tour at the discretion of staff and company management. In these instances, a full refund will be issued. If you have a change of plan, you must inform us and cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the start of tours to be eligible for a full refund.

If you made your reservation via a travel agent, booking agent or any third party. The cancellation policy will follow the agent’s regulations. It will be your responsibility to contact them for a refund. You are welcome to contact us if your travel agent requires evidence that the tour was cancelled.

Refunds can take up to 10 working to days to complete and all payments will be refunded onto the same payment card that was used to make the booking.
